Crossing the Border into Thailand

Hoa, Mme Xuyen, Arro and I crossed the Mekong River into Nongkhai, Thailand on February 7. The border crossing into Thailand was painless. We rode a tuk-tuk to the Friendship bridge and then bought tickets onto a bus across the bridge. We hopped onto the first bus we saw which was packed to the gills with people, and ten minutes later we arrived at the immigration post in Thailand. We dropped off our arrival forms, got our passport stamped and headed into Nongkhai. The first stop was the very nice Princess Train Library at the train station. Mme Xuyen bought Hoa her train ticket at the station and then we headed into the city. We spent the day wandering through the market and walking by the Mekong River on the Thai side. A little before 4 pm we left Hoa to take her overnight train into Bangkok!

Arro, Mme Xuyen and I hopped onto a bus to head back into Laos! The border crossing here was once again not too difficult. Arro and I had to apply for visas which took a bit of time and cost an extra dollar for
"overtime." It was nice to see how easy the trip was to do!
