First Week without Hoa

I had my first week without Hoa, who went to Bangkok. On Tuesday I went with Mme Xuyen to Dongsavat school to see the kids perform at the end of the semester ceremony. The ceremony was very long with speeches and then the children performed some dances and songs. I tutored Chanhom, a student at Lao university, for two hours in the afternoon! We left early because Xuyen had her piano lesson. On Wednesday and Friday I went to Donkoi and taught English to 5th graders, and Thursday tutored Chanhom for the last time. He headed off to do his field work for his social work degree. On Saturday I headed over to Dongsavat to teach English with Arro. Since the school is too far to ride a bike, I rode with Mme Xuyen to Donkoi and then was picked up on a scooter to go the rest of the way. It was my first time on a scooter but the driver knew what he was doing and I made it safely to and from Dongsavat. It was nice to teach with another person and Dongsavat is very organized school which always had someone translate for me when I taught!
